Simon von Witt
MPhil Sustainable Development | Environmental Consultant
"South Africa's waterways and ecosystems deserve more than good intentions. Green Stamp exists to hold products to a standard that nature itself would approve of."
Simon brings nearly 20 years of hands-on environmental consulting experience to every Green Stamp assessment. A Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAPSA 2021/3254) - a designation that demands rigorous professional standards and accountability - his evaluations carry the full weight of formal environmental practice in South Africa. Holding an MPhil in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor's in Environmental and Geographic Science from UCT, his assessments are grounded in science, not marketing.
As Director of TBL Consulting, Simon has managed Environmental Impact Assessments, Water Use Licensing, and environmental compliance across South Africa's private and public sectors - including tenure at the City of Cape Town's Environmental Resource Management Department. His career-long focus on water quality and waterway protection makes him uniquely qualified to assess whether a product truly belongs in South Africa's environment.
Why It Matters
South Africa's rivers, wetlands, and coastlines are under pressure. Household and industrial products that contain persistent chemicals, non-biodegradable compounds, or water-toxic ingredients contribute to that damage every single day.
Green Stamp exists to change that - one product at a time. Consumers can trust the mark. Manufacturers can prove their commitment. And nature gets a fighting chance.
